Raipur, 24 April 2026/

Taking serious note of the intense heatwave conditions in the state, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has taken a prompt and sensitive decision prioritizing the health and safety of children.

As per the Chief Minister’s directives, all Anganwadi centres across the state will operate from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM daily until 30 June 2026. Children’s attendance will be restricted to 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM to protect them from extreme heat and heatwave conditions.

The Chief Minister clarified that Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) activities will continue as per the prescribed schedule and calendar. Distribution of supplementary nutrition will also be ensured regularly, so that children’s nutrition and learning remain unaffected.

As per the revised schedule, centres will begin at 7:00 AM, with children present from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM, while other services will continue till 11:00 AM. Anganwadi workers and helpers will carry out remaining duties as per their job charts during this period.

The Chief Minister further directed that nutrition counselling services be strengthened through home visits. Anganwadi workers will visit households after centre hours to raise awareness among mothers as per the prescribed process.

Issuing strict instructions on child safety, the Chief Minister emphasized ensuring safe transportation of children back home during extreme heat and heatwave conditions. Accountability will be fixed in case of any negligence.

Women & Child Development Minister Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade has instructed all district officials to ensure continuous monitoring and regular review at the district level for effective implementation. She added that after the summer season, Anganwadi centres will resume normal timings from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM (6 hours) from 01 July 2026.
